The New and Renewable Energy Authority will secure a land plot for Norway's Scatec ASA to build a wind farm western Sohag as per an agreement they signed Wednesday.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli attended Tuesday evening the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar).
Those will be built by the UAE's AMEA Power.
The value of the projects to be established per those agreements is $85 billion.
In July, Egypt's Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and UAE's Masdar and ADNOC signed an agreement to build the farm.

The estimated cost of the project is $325 million, and it is expected to generate 2 billion kWH annually.
The total amount of electricity generated from renewable energy in Egypt has reached 6,000 megawatt, as the government seeks to increase the renewables’ share in the energy mix.
