The Egyptian archeological expedition working in Tal el-Kedwah,northern Sinai unearthedthe remains of an ancient fortress spanning back to the 26th dynasty.
The massive fortress was built in 1860 BC. It had about 1,000 soldiers, 300 archers and their families.
