Erik Ten Hag
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag prefers the contract extension till 2026 he received last month to longer-term deals, the Dutchman told The Guardian newspaper in an interview published on Friday.
United put in a listless and error-strewn performance, with goalkeeper David de Gea and defender Harry Maguire culpable for a couple of Sevilla's goals.
"I cannot tell what it is, but is not an Achilles," the Dutchman told reporters. "I have spoken with him and he is okay and he is calm."
Victory on Sunday would keep alive United's slim hopes of catching leaders Arsenal.
Rashford set up Antony's fourth-minute opener and sent in the cross that Everton defender Conor Coady turned into his own net before converting a stoppage-time penalty to cap another sparkling display.
Sancho, 22, has struggled for form since joining United from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021. He has not played since Oct. 22 and his absence, along with Cristiano Ronaldo's exit, has depleted United's options up front.
Rashford, Diogo Dalot, Fred and Luke Shaw were all in the final year of their deals but had an option to extend their contracts by 12 months.
Erik ten Hag will become Manchester United manager next season, tasked with turning around nearly a decade of decline.
Both the BBC and the Daily Mail claim the 52-year-old Ajax manager is seen as fitting the profile the United board want for the man who they hope will restore the glory days the club enjoyed under Alex Ferguson.
Ten Hag is a former Dutch midfielder who played most of his career with FC Twente in the Dutch League.
