Top U.S. State Department official Andrew Miller who served as deputy assistant secretary for Israeli-Palestinian Affairs resigned from President Joe Biden’s administration, according to media reports.
The US administration, under President Joe Biden, signed an executive order on Friday that allows further sanctions against parties involved in Ethiopia’s Tigray conflict.
The three countries called upon the international community to stop the Israeli illegal and illegitimate acts in the Palestinian territories.
The plan, which was approved by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, could suspend about $130 million from the aid.
The US administration is considering suspending some aid to Ethiopia, six officials and congressional aides told Foreign Policy, as the latter announced the first filling of the Renaissance Dam, which heightened tensions with Egypt over fears of water shortage.
Shoukry stressed, during the call, on the importance of keeping communication channels open between the Palestinian Authority and the U.S. administration.
