The authority plans to purchase 1,000 wagons of different models, the report said, noting that it is negotiating with the SEMAF factory to manufacture and supply the 1,000 freight cars, at a cost of more than LE 4 billion.
Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said that the government will develop the first line at a cost of €360 million.
The Transport Ministry will work on developing 1,200 km of railways, with a cost of LE 21 million for each kilometer.
