Foreign Debts
According to the Global Economic Data, Indicators, Charts , and Forecasts (CEIC), Egypt’s external debt reached $165.4 billion in March 2023, compared to $162.9 billion in the previous quarter of the same year.
Data from the CBE showed that these amounts were directed to repay outstanding international loans and bonds; which reflects Egypt's commitment to pay all dues on time.
Egypt's foreign debts rose to 92.6 billion dollars at the end of June up by 17.2 percent compared with the end of June 2017.
The president reviewed with Amer the current economic situation and the developments in the currency exchange rate.
Repaying the bank’s dues will highly contribute to decreasing the foreign liabilities, CBE Governor said.
