Hijri year
First Lady Entissar al-Sisi sent her greetings to the people of Egypt on the start of a new Hijri year on Sunday.
Egypt's First Lady Entissar el-Sisi wished the Egyptian people and Muslims all over the world a happy new Hijri year. Coinciding with the new year in the Islamic Hijri calender, which dates back to the day Prophet Mohamed and his companions migrated from Mecca to Medina, the first lady wrote her greeting on Facebook.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, some cultural and artistic activities will be held to celebrate the Hijri New Year.
Head of the Evangelical Church Rev. Dr Andrea Zaki sent on Thursday a cable of greetings to President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi on the new Hijri year.
Sisi exchanged cables of greetings on Thursday with the leaders of the Arab and Islamic world on the occasion of the new Hijri year.
