Volkswagen spends billions more on electric cars in search for mass market

Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) is stepping up its shift to electric cars and plans to invest more than 20 billion euros ($24 billion) in zero-emission vehicles by 2030 to challenge pioneer Tesla (TSLA.O) .
