Saeb Erekat
CAIRO - 10 September 2020: Palestinians and the entire Arab world have lost a “steadfast and unshakable fighter,” whose cause and goals were clear and legitimate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said mourned Palestinian spokesperson Saeb Erekat.
Saeb Erekat, a prominent Palestinian spokesman for decades, died on Tuesday after contracting COVID-19, a senior member of his Fatah party said. He was 65.
Saeb Erekat said that any attempt by the United States and Israel to force the Palestinians to accept dictations "will be in vain".
Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Tuesday continued his contacts and consultations with a number of his counterparts.
Shoukry stressed, during the call, on the importance of keeping communication channels open between the Palestinian Authority and the U.S. administration.
Erekat asked Friday the Quartet on the Middle East to confirm their adoption of the two state solution based on the pre-1967 borders.
Erekat urged the US administration and international community to focus on the two-state solution on the 1967 borders and stop Israel's settlement activities.
