Sources at the petroleum sector told Egypt Today that companies applying to the tender included Shell, ExxonMobil, Statoil, Dragon Oil, Russian Rosneft and Total France.
Under the agreement, the two companies have a minimum 15-year period of exclusive multi-client rights.
The company also plans to increase its daily production to 22,500 barrels of oil per day.
