The talks also tackled ongoing efforts to appoint a new UN special representative in Libya, he added.
“I urged the Speaker to continue lending all necessary support to establish a constitutional and legal basis for organizing elections as soon as possible in conjunction with the UN-facilitated process,” the ambassador further said.
US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland said the US is supporting human rights in Libya.
Norland said that the US is working on guaranteeing the safety of the elections in Libya.
