Gasoline Prices
The adjustments will see 95-octane gasoline rise to LE 17 from LE 15, 92-octane gasoline rise to LE 15.25 from LE 13.75, 80-octane gasoline rise to LE 13.75 from LE 12.25, and diesel prices rise to LE 13.50 from LE 11.50
As per the committee’s decision, the price of 80-octance gasoline will remain unchanged at LE 8 per liter while price of 92-octance and 95-octane will remain fixed at LE 9.25 and LE 10.75 per liter respectively, a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum said.
The Egyptian government has denied reports about an alleged rise in public transportation fares in light of the recent increase in gasoline prices.
Egypt earlier increased gasoline prices by 25 piasters per liter two times this year, the latest of which was on 23 July.
Egypt's Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee decided to raise gasoline prices by 25 piasters per liter and to keep the prices of diesel and mazut unchanged until the end of September.
