CAIRO-25 February 2021: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his happiness after his team’s 2-0 win against Germany’s Borussia Monchengladbach in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
"In general we played really well but we were not clinical enough up front. The actions one against one - with the keeper, with the defenders - we have to be more clinical. You have to finish the action, at least make the keeper make a save and we didn't do it.” Guardiola said after the match.
Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus scored two goals after a fantastic effort from Joao Cancelo to secure a comfortable win for the English giants.
Manchester City are enjoying a 19-winning run in all competitions and they are the main contenders to win the Premier League this season.
Asked about the secret behind the team’s incredible run, he said “We have a lot of money to buy a lot of incredible players. The players are fantastic and have an incredible relationship and they play every game to think just win that game.”
Guardiola managed to lead Manchester City to win back-to-back Premier League titles but the club fans aim to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
