CAIRO –3 July 2017: Al-Ahly handball player and first Captain of the team, Karim Al-Saeed, has announced his retirement from the club on Monday, as reported on the club’s official website.

Karim said he was very proud of what he had done with the team over the years which witnessed his 17 titles with the team in different championships in all the levels whether local, Arab or African competitions, Filgoal reported.

With a career spanning 25 years with the team, Al-Saeed stated that he preferred to make his decision to retire while being in top form. This can be understood with his winning of numerous tournaments including the Al-Ahly’s most recent first time win of the African Handball Super Cup title, as reported by the club’s official website.

Al-Saeed thanked all those who stood by him during his career which started with Al-Ahly in the summer of 1992 and wished success to the team in their new season. He ended his speech by pointing out that he is still considering his next step, whether in the field of media or sports training, according to Super Kora.
