CAIRO-30 December 2020: The Premier League Board postponed the London derby between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, scheduled on Wednesday evening, amid COVID-19 outbreak.

“The Premier League Board has consulted its medical advisors and the decision to postpone the game has been taken as a precaution and with the health of players and staff as the priority. The group will now be retested immediately.” The Premier League board statement said.

This game is the second to be postponed due to COVID-19 this week after postponing the match between Manchester City and Everton.

The statement added “Fulham lodged a request with the Premier League Board to rearrange the fixture following a significant rise in positive COVID-19 cases, as well as a number of players showing symptoms today.”

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho published a photo on his instagram account four hours before the match, saying “Match at 6 pm... We still don't know if we play. Best league in the world,"

West Bromwich Albion manager Sam Allardyce said that football needs a break to ensure the safety of everyone as 18 COVID-19 cases were discovered in the last round, the highest since the resumption of Premier League.
