Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano hosts Madrid Derby for the first time

CAIRO-12 December 2020: Real Madrid will host their city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday night in the Spanish League at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

The Di Stefano will host the derby for the first time, becoming the 13th venue to host the derby.

Real Madrid played their home matches at their training pitch, Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, since the start of the pandemic as their cathedral, Santiago Bernabeu stadium is going under many renovations.

Real Madrid survived a disaster on Wednesday as they managed to reach the UEFA Champions League second round after defeating Borussia Mönchengladbach.

"Real Madrid have improved in the last games. We are going to take the game where we think we can hurt them." Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said ahead of the match.

Los Blancos enter the game in a tough situation as they are six points behind Atletico Madrid, who still have a postponed game to play.

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, praised Atletico, saying “Atleti are a team that always compete, they have for a long time, that's what I expect. As for the rest, we'll look at what we will do, that is what interests me more."

The game starts on 10:00 PM.
