CAIRO-19 October 2020: Zamalek manager Jaime Pacheco expressed his happiness after the important win over Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League semi-finals first leg on Sunday night.
The White Knights beat the Moroccan champions thanks to a goal from Zamalek’s Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki.
“My players played to my instructions and we achieved a good result away from home.” Pacheco said after the game.
The Egyptian team’s win gives them an advantage ahead of the second leg, scheduled on Saturday night at Cairo International stadium.
Pacheco added “Nothing is won yet, we have to remain focused in the return leg and achieve our target by going through to the final.”
Raja manager Jamal Sellami believes that his team deserved a better result, saying “We were the better side all over the game and we still have a chance in the return leg in Cairo and I believe we are still capable of reaching the final.”
The first leg results made the two Egyptian teams, Al Ahly and Zamalek, close from reaching the CAF Champions League final.
