Salah scores in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Everton

CAIRO-17 October 2020: The Merseyside derby, held on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park in the opening game of the week, ended with a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool opened the score at the opening minutes of the game by Sadio Mane who received a wonderful cross from Andrew Robertson to give the Reds an early lead.

Premier League table-toppers Everton equalized the score minutes before half time through Michael Keane’s header.

Liverpool regained the lead by their Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah who struck in a clinical finish to make the score 2-1 for the Reds.

Everton equalized the score by their on-fire striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 10 minutes before the final whistle.

Liverpool’s captain Jordan Henderson scored a late goal but the referee disallowed it after checking VAR, which caused much controversy at the end of the game.

“It was the best away derby we played since I am at Liverpool – top football, (we) conceded goals because of the specific strength of Everton.” Klopp said after the game.

Everton kept their unbeaten record in the league this season as they are leading the table with 13 points from 4 victories and a draw.
