CAIRO-14 October 2020: Al Ittihad of Alexandria announced on Wednesday that they have reached an agreement with Hossam Hassan to be their new coach.
Hassan will succeed Talaat Youssef who resigned after Al Ittihad's 2-1 loss to El Masry in the Egyptian league.
"It is an honour to coach Al Ittihad. It is one of the biggest clubs in Egypt and I know the club's values and the support of its passionate fans." Hossam told press.
Hossam will lead the giants of Alexandria for the second time in his career as he led Al Ittihad between October 2014 and July 2015.
In his first spell with Al Ittihad, Hossam coached the club in 35 games winning in 12 victories, losing in 10 games while 13 games ended with a draw.
Hossam Hassan is one of the historic players in the Egyptian football history, having won three African Cup of Nations titles in 1986, 1998 and 2006.
He also scored the goal that took the Pharaohs to the World Cup in 1990, which is Egypt's second participation in the prestigious event after 1934.
