CAIRO-14 October 2020: A West Ham fan has been banned from football for the next three years as he pleaded guilty to racially abusing Liverpool Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah.

"West Ham United is unequivocal in its stance - we have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination." West Ham spokesperson said in a press release on Thursday.

In 2019, Salah was a victim of racism during Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against West Ham United at London stadium in the Premier League.

A video, posted on a West Ham fan's Twitter account insulting the religious background of the Egyptian player as he took a corner, went viral and the Londonese club decided to take on action against the supporter.

West Ham spokesperson added "Equality and diversity are at the heart of the football club and we are committed to continue ensuring that everyone who enters London Stadium is free to enjoy watching their team play football in an inclusive environment."
