Sports minister leads cycling marathon marking anniversary of Oct. 6 War victory

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi led on Friday a bicycle and motorcycle marathon under the slogan of "your sport...your immunity".

 

Organized by the Central Administration for Sports Development in cooperation and coordination with Cairo’s youth and sports directorate, the marathon is held to celebrate the 47th anniversary of the October 6 War victory.

 

As many as 600 male and female youths took part in the marathon.

 

The bicycles and motorbikes set off outside the old Egyptian Museum in Cairo's Tahrir Square and moved for about 15 kilometers in a record time of 45 minutes before arriving at the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza Pyramids.
