Guardiola wants to sign Alexis Sanchez, Sanchez - Reuters
CAIRO – 29 June 2017: Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, turns his eyes to ex-Barcelona players to form his squad for the new season, since last season was not good for Manchester City ending without a single trophy.
Guardiola, former Barcelona manager, tries to sign players he had managed before during his period in Barcelona to help him execute his plans.
He is close to sign Daniel Alves, 34 years old, and he is trying to force Arsenal to let their diamond Alexis Sanchez join Manchester City this summer.
Alves and Sanchez joined Barcelona when Guardiola was the head coach of the Catalan club and they admire their former coach’s strategy.
Guardiola spent four years in Barcelona from 2009 to 2012 when he won 14 titles including two Champions League titles.
Alves was an important player in Guardiola’s era in Barcelona and he continued to win titles with the club until his departure to Juventus last year.
