CAIRO-19 September 2020: Liverpool completed the deal of signing the Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich on Friday.
The team manager Jurgen Klopp believes that the player will be a great addition to his squad, who seeks to retain the Premier League title.
“A player like Thiago - settled that much at Bayern - is usually out of reach for pretty much everybody," Klopp told the club’s official website.
The Spaniard was sensational in Bayern Munich's run to win the 2020 UEFA Champions League title.
He added “I know all the people at Bayern wanted to keep him desperately, that's normal and understandable because he played an important role, in the last season as well.”
Alcantara will add the depth Liverpool’s squad needed in midfield to be ready to fight for this season’s titles.
The Spaniard left Bayern Munich, the team he joined in 2013 from his childhood club Barcelona, wanted a new challenge in the biggest league in the world.
Klopp commented on Alcantara’s desire to challenge himself in the Premier League, saying “He knows the Premier League is tough but he wants to come to the Premier League; he knows we have a good team but he wants to come to this team."
