Al Ittihad win Egyptian Basketball League title

CAIRO - 11 September 2020: Al Ittihad of Alexandria defeated Al Ahly 81-72 to secure their third victory in the series and win the Egyptian Basketball League title.

 

Al Ittihad won the final play-offs 3_1 and secured their first league title in 10 years and their 15th league title in the competition's history. 

 

Al Ittihad won the first game in the play-offs 101-94 but the Red Devils bounced back to win the second game 76-65.

 

Al Ittihad won the third game 71-68 to edge closer to the title before securing the Egyptian league title on Thursday night. 

 

Al Ittihad's captain Ismail Ahmed won the final MVP award after his sensational performance that led his team to the title. 

 

"It is a great achievement for the club and the fans. We played very good games against a tough opponent but we were persistent to win the title and finish the season in a style." Ismail said after the game. 

 

Al Ittihad won the quadruple this season to prove their supremacy as the basketball powerhouse of Egypt.
