(Cairo), 9 September 2020: LaLiga is celebrating the start of the 2020-21 season in a very special way in (Egypt). For the next 12 hours, fans of the Spanish competition can visit a giant replica of the official PUMA ball with which the most exciting football matches in the world are played.
The replica of the LaLiga ball can be found at (Cairo Festival City Mall) in Cairo, today, Wednesday, 9 September between 10AM and 10PM in the open promenade of the mall.
The two official balls include "Adrenaline", the special-edition yellow ball that which will be used for the standout matches of the season like ElClásico, between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, or the famous Derbies of Spain. The other ball, "Accelerate", will be used during the rest of the LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank matches.
The giant ball hosted in Cairo is made of Pórex and has a diameter of 3.5 metres.
This activation aims to bring LaLiga closer to international fans and continue to bring the passion for football to a key territory for the Spanish league where, for 3 years, it has had a delegate in the country, Juan Fuentes to promote its work.
“We are sure that we will see great moments with this ball during Laliga's 20/21 season and this giant replica reflects the relevance of the country for us. We want to be close to our fans and offer them a unique experience, on and off the pitch”, said Juan Fuentes, LaLiga delegate to Egypt.

Knowing that football culture runs deep in Egypt, we wanted to share our excitement and passion with the fans by creating these giant ball replicas to celebrate the kick-off of the new season” comments Abdelhamid Oraibi, Head of Marketing PUMA Middle East.
Spanish football fans in Egypt can take photos next to the spectacular giant PUMA ball and, in addition, through a QR code, will be able to participate in the new season's unboxing campaign, downloading LaLiga filters on Instagram and taking part in LaLiga challenges on Tik Tok. By doing so, they will automatically win the official bracelet of LaLiga.
The ball final destination will be LaLiga Business School partners in Egypt, ESLSCA, where hundreds of students and future sport management students will be able to spot the ball and the campaign will be still active.
Also the Spanish-Egyptian freestyler “Yorok”, Egyptian and Arab Champion of freestyling, will shoot a video in a prominent location as part of the campaign. He will be performing today at Cairo Festival City Mall at 6:30PM.
In addition to Egypt, other countries such as Mexico, Cameroon, South Africa, Germany or Thailand displayed a replica of the ball in one of their main cities similar to the one found in Cairo. With these actions, LaLiga continues to celebrate the start of the new football season on a global level to get closer to its fans in different countries around the world.
