CAIRO-3 September 2020: Sevilla Spanish defender Sergio Reguilon believes that his team can fight for the Spanish league title next season.

The defender, who joined Seville last summer on a loan from Real Madrid, lifted the UEFA Europa League title after defeating Inter Milan 3-2 in the final.

“It could be the case that Sevilla compete for LaLiga and that'd make me very happy." Reguilon said.

The team, led by former Spanish national team and Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui, finished fourth in La Liga last season behind Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Reguilon believes that Real Madrid and Barcelona are not dominating the league as they did during the last decade and many teams have a chance to challenge them for the title.

He added "Each year, things are getting a bit more equal, although Real Madrid and Barcelona are still the best,"

The Spanish defender has been linked with a permanent move to Seville as Real Madrid have two world-class players in his position, Mendy and Marcelo, and he will find it difficult to earn a playing time in Madrid.

The Spaniard commented “ Obviously, Real Madrid is my home, but it's not easy. I'm bearing everything in mind."
