Al-Khatib meets Weiler to discuss Al Ahly’s loss against Zamalek

CAIRO, 24 August 2020: Mahmoud Al-Khatib, Al-Ahly president, held a session with Rene Weiler, the coach of the first team, on the sidelines of the group training session.

 

The session was attended by members of the Al-Ahly Club Planning Committee, Zakaria Nassif, Mohsen Saleh.

 

Al-Khatib and members of the Planning Committee discussed with Weiler the reasons for the team’s defeat in the summit match against Zamalek.

 

Al-Ahly lost 3-1 to Zamalek in the 21st round of the Egyptian League.

 

Weiler held a lengthy session with the players to talk about the summit match and things that should be focused on in the coming period.

 

The individual sessions continued in the training session, and this time Sayed Abdel Hafeez, the football director, met with Rene Weiler, the coach, to discuss some of the team’s issues.

 

And David Seiza, the team’s general coach, held a lengthy one-on-one session with Ali Maaloul, the Tunisian left back.

 

Saleh Gomaa also returned to participate in group training with the rest of the players after spending a long period of training in the gymnasium and running solo.

 

Mohamed Mahmoud, the midfielder, also appeared in the training to continue his qualifying program.

 

Walid Soleiman did not appear in group training because of his visit to Mohamed Abdel Shafi, the Zamalek player, who was injured during the summit match.

 

Al-Ahly is preparing to face El-Gouna next Thursday in the 22nd round of the Egyptian League.
