CAIRO, 23 August 2020: Walid Soliman, Al-Ahly player, denied the accusations against him of causing the injury of Mohamed Abdel-Shafi, the Zamalek player.

Zamalek defeated Al-Ahly 3-1 in Cairo Stadium, in the 21st round of the Egyptian League.

Soliman said in his statements: "How they are saying that I deliberately hurt an opponent player in the match?!"

He explained, "It was a common clash, and the clash was a tough."

He concluded: "I am currently undergoing examinations in the hospital to determine the extent of my shoulder injury, as well."

Abdel Shafi suffered a fracture of his collarbone, which requires surgical fixation, and keeps him out of play for 6 to 8 weeks, according to Mohamed Osama, the Zamalek doctor.

Amir Mortada Mansour, the general supervisor of football in Zamalek, said: "Walid Soliman deliberately hit Abdel Shafi."

The White Knight's arrows were fired by Ahmed Sayed "Zizou", Mustafa Muhammad and Osama Faisal, in the minutes 13, 71 and 93.

While Al-Ahly's only goal came through Yasser Ibrahim in the 62nd minute.

Zamalek achieved their first victory over Al-Ahly in the league since 3 games, specifically when it defeated the red giant with a double from Kasongo and Ayman Hefni in the 2017-18 season.

Zamalek reached point 42 in second place, while Al-Ahly stuck at point 56 in the lead.
