CAIRO-22 August 2020: Sevilla defeated Italian giants Inter Milan 3_2 to clinch the Europa League title for the sixth time in the Spanish club's history.
Romelu Lukaku opened the score for the Italian side after five minutes from the penalty spot but the Spanish club's Dutch striker Luuk de Jong equalised the score three minutes later.
The Dutch striker added the second goal for Sevilla by a wonderful header. However, Inter Milan were level before half time thanks to Diego Godin's header.
The winning goal for the Spanish team was added 15 minutes before the final whistle as Sevilla defender Diego Carlos' overhead kick touched Lukaku, who diverted it past his own goalkeeper.
"This squad are great. They believe in it, what they work on and what they transmit. Even if we hadn't won I'd still love these guys, but today we take home the prize. We always believed." Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui.
Lopetegui, who managed Spanish U-21 national team, Spanish national team and Real Madrid, won the first trophy of his managerial career on club level.
Sevilla's remarkable love affair with Europa League continued as they won their sixth title in the competition in their sixth appearance in the final.
