CAIRO-20 August 2020: Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouli, launched the first sports festival in Egypt’s New Alamein coastal city.
The festival, organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, includes sports competitions, a cycling race, beach volleyball, beach five-a-side football, speedball and street workout.
The event kicked off on Wednesday in front of the cabinet's HQ in the city in the presence of a host of ministers and youths.
The first day of the event included a cycling race and volleyball and football matches.
Dr Madbouli stated that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays much attention to encouraging youths to practice sports regularly, noting that the government's development strategy seeks to build human capacities by focusing on improving public education and health.
Egyptian Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy praised great efforts exerted by all parties involved in the organization of this event.
The event reflects the recent achievements in the New Alamein City and promotes the practice of sports, as well as tourism, Madboui said.
