CAIRO_30 July 2020: Brentford defeated Swansea City 3_1 on Wednesday night to secure their spot at the championship play-off final.
The Londoners bounced back after losing the Championship play-off semi-finals first leg 1_0 in Swansea to continue their dream to seal promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 73 years.
Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Marcondes and Bryan Mbeumo scored the home team's three goals while Swansea City's only goal was scored by Rhian Brewster after a big mistake from Brentford's defence.
"We talked about not leaving the pitch without getting to the final. The message was we needed to start faster than we ever started before. And we did that." Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said after the game.
This victory was Brentford's last ever game at Griffin Park, the team's home of 116 years, as they will move to a new stadium this summer.
The manager added "It is a very nice moment and we have achieved something good. But we want to achieve something big and we are going to the final to win."
Brentford will face the winner between their arch rivals Fulham and Cardiff City on Tuesday 4 August.
