CAIRO-16 July 2020: Raja Casablanca official spokesperson, Said Wahby, stated on Wednesday night that the club trusts CAF to provide equal opportunities for CAF Champions League semi-finalists, when deciding the venue for the remaining fixtures of the competition.
“We are still awaiting the CAF decision about the venue for the CAF Champions League remiaing fixtures. We trust CAF’s decision.” Wahby said.
The CAF Executive Committee announced on Tuesday that CAF Champions League semi-finals will resume in September with a Final Four (4) format, adding that the semi-Final matches will be played in a single match.
Wahby continued “We are the only team still competing in three different competitions; CAF Champions League, Arab Club Championship and the domestic league.”
Raja Casablanca will face 2019 CAF Confederation Cup winners Zamalek while Al Ahly will take on 2017 CAF Champions League winners Wydad Casablanca.
Raja lost 2002 CAF Champions League final to Zamalek thanks to Tamer Abdel Hamid goal at the second leg in Cairo as the first leg in Morocco ended with a goalless draw.
