CAIRO, 13 July 2020: Aston Villa coach Dean Smith praised his Egyptian player Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet", who led the team to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Aston Villa defeated Crystal Palace with two goals from Trezeguet, and continued the struggle to remain in the Premier League.
Smith said after the match: "Trezeguet performed very well in the last two games, he deserved his position."
He added: "He joined us last summer and took some time to adjust."
He continued: "His behavior is perfect, and he works very seriously."
He continued: "I told the players that we are playing today the first semi-final match, we cannot control the results of other teams, but only what we offer."
He concluded: "This was the first semi-final and we have to prepare well for the second leg against Everton. It will be a very difficult match."
Trezeguet became the fourth Egyptian to score two goals in one match in the English Premier League. Ahmed Hosam "Mido" was the first when he scored twice in his first participation with Tottenham v. Portsmouth in February 2005.
Amr Zaki also scored twice at Hull City, and Liverpool, in his season with Wigan.
The third is definitely Mohamed Salah, top scorer for Liverpool for 3 consecutive seasons.
But perhaps most important to Trezeguet, is to give his team the match points that will take them to point 30 in 18th place, 4 points from 17th-ranked Watford - Survival Center - 3 rounds before the end.
