Orenga speaks about Egypt chances in the World Cup

CAIRO – 25 June 2017: The Egyptian under-19 (U19) basketball team is hoping to become the first African team to reach the quarter-finals of the U19 World Cup, according to Juan Antonio Orenga, coach of the Pharaohs. The tournament will be hosted by Egypt and held at the Covered Halls Complex of Cairo International Stadium from July 1 through 9.

The Egyptian national team will be grouped with Lithuania, Germany and Puerto Rico during the tournament, facing tough competition.

"Our group is very strong; with us is Lithuania and Germany. Lithuania have won second place in the European championship, and Germany have won fourth place, The Puerto Rican team is strong and has great players," Orenga said, according to Super Kora.

Orenga added "If we do not win the first four games, we will face France the European champions. It is a difficult journey, but we need everyone's support to achieve this ambition."
