CAIRO_7 May 2020: Cesc Fabregas, former Barcelona midfielder and the current player of Monaco believes that his former club deserves to be crowned Laliga champions if the season cancelled.
Barcelona are leading the league table with two points ahead of their arch-rivals Real Madrid.
"Everyone defends their own interests. At Monaco, we have been left without Europe next year for very little. But if [LaLiga Santander] stopped, as it has done in France, Barcelona would be worthy winners." Fabregas told TVE.
Fabregas' comments came in response to Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, who said that Barcelona does not deserve the title.
Courtois said "We drew with them and beat them this year, we were the better team. If the season were to be canceled and Barcelona declared champions then it would be unjust."
The Spanish team's returned to training sessions this week and LaLiga president, Javier Tebas, expected LaLiga to resume in June.
