Cairo stadium declared the best stadium in the world

CAIRO_7 May 2020: Cairo International Stadium has been named the most beautiful stadium in the world in a poll launched by Spanish newspaper, Marca.

Cairo stadium came on top after collecting more than 166k votes, to beat Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu and Barcelona's Camp Nou, who came second and third respectively.

Opened in 1960, the Cairo International Stadium is the historic home ground for Al-Ahly, Zamalek and the national team.

It is the largest stadium in the capital with an all-seated capacity of 75,000 and hosted many major tournaments like the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup, 1997 FIFA U-17 World Cup, 1991 All-Africa Games and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

Tunisia's Stade Olympique de Radès came 9th with more than 12.9k votes while Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca came 11th with 12.4k votes.
