CAIRO – 22 June 2017: Borussia Dortmund sent a firm warning to Barcelona after attempts to sign the 20-year-old French winger Ousmane Dembélé on Thursday.
The French winger is one of the Catalan club Barcelona’s targets with several reports indicating that it is close to completing the deal, Filgoal website reported.
Regarding rumors of a potential move for Dembélé, Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc, on Thursday, said to WAZ newspaper, “Ousmane Dembele has a long-term contract, he is an essential part of our plans” and added, “There are no negotiations.”
Dortmund is ready to raise a complaint to FIFA in the event that Barcelona continues their negotiations with the player, according to the Sun.
Scoring 10 goals and making 21 assists, the French international appeared in 49 games with Dortmund making his performance vital in this season. In addition to winning the 2016/2017 German Cup with Borussia Dortmund, Dembélé also played seven games, scoring one goal and one assist, with the French National team, according to Transfer Markt.
