CAIRO –22 June 2017: The Egyptian national pentathlon team arrived in Lithuania on Thursday for the Modern Pentathlon World Cup which will be held from June 23 to 26 in Lithuania.
Six Egyptians from the national team were able to qualify for the World Cup tournament. They are among the 36 top pentathlon athletes in the world according to Super Kora.
The team includes three men and three women: Islam Hamed, Sherif Yasser, Yasser Hafni (men's team), Heidi Adel, Sondos Tariq, and Maryam Amer (women's team).
The national team's delegation for the World Cup is led by Sherine Saleh, the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation (EMPF) board member. Rauf Hossam, the head coach of the team, Yaser Asr, the equestrian trainer, and Sameh Magdy, the fencing coach, accompanied the team.
