CAIRO_30 April 2020: Mohamed Mamdouh Hashem, Dinamo București and Egyptian national team player, believes that Egypt can reach semi-finals of 2021 Handball World Championship, set to be held in Egypt between 14 and 21 January.
"Two years ago, the quarter finals would have been my wish but now I can say we can reach the semi finals." Hashem said.
Egypt will host the competition for the second time in the history after 1999, during which Egypt finished 7th.
Hashem added "We have a great team with many amazing players who can challenge the biggest teams in the world."
During the last championship, Egypt reached the main round and finished 8th in the tournament. Egypt also won 2020 African Handball Championship in Tunisia.
Hashem discussed his future with the Romanian club, saying " I still have one year in my contract and I want to win the Champions League for the second time."
In 2018, Hashem became the first Egyptian player to win the Champions League title when he was playing for Montpellier.
