Senegalese legendary footballer El Hadji Diouf addressed his perspective about some of Egypt’s top footballers and his relationship with them.
Speaking to ONTime Sports, Diouf talked about his friendship with former Egyptian players from his generation.
“Most Egyptian players are my friends. I constantly talk with Ahmed Hossam Mido, Mohamed Abo Treka, and other players from my generation,” Diouf told ONTime Sports.
Additionally, Diouf talked about his admiration for Egypt's iconic striker Hossam Hassan saying that Hassan was the perfect example whom he always looked up to.
Moreover, veteran Senegelase striker [Diouf] spoke about the Egyptian player who he wished to play with during his career.
“I dreamt to play with Abo Treka. I didn’t see any other player with the same qualities like Abo Treka. If he was a Brazilian footballer, Abo Treka would’ve been one of the best players in the world,” Diouf concluded.
The 39-year-old [Diouf] is considered to be one of Senegal’s figures in the country’s modern football history having played a total of 43 games in which he scored 16 goals.
While in his club career, Diouf scored 72 goals and delivered 58 assists in a total of 508 games.
