Salah needs an international trophy, El Hadary

CAIRO_24 April 2020: Egypt legendary goalkeeper, Essam El Hadary, believes that Mohamed Salah has been very successful with his club, Liverpool, but he needs to add an international trophy to his trophy cabinet to be the best Egyptian player ever.

"Salah is an idol for every football player. He has achieved many successes with Liverpool but he still needs to win a trophy with the national team." El Hadary said.

Salah was so close to winning the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations title in Gabon but Egypt lost the final to Cameroon 2_1 after they were leading the game 1_0.

However, Salah led the national team to the 2018 World Cup in Russia for the first time since the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Salah's participation in the World Cup was affected by the shoulder injury he suffered during the 2018 UEFA Champions League final.

Salah missed Egypt's opening game at the tournament but he participated in the remaining two games and scored Egypt's two goals at the tournament.
