Hossam Hassan is one of the best strikers I have coached, Zobel

CAIRO_16 April 2020: Former Al Ahly manager, Rainer Zobel, praises Egyptian football legend, Hossam Hassan, and described him as one of the best strikers he has ever coached.

"Hossam is one of the best strikers I have coached. He reminded me of Bayern Munich players," Zobel said.

The German manager was Al Ahly's coach when football fans in Egypt were shocked when Hossam and his twin brother Ibrahim decided to join arch-rivals Zamalek.

Reports always linked Zobel with pushing the two captains out of the club, which the manager denied on Wednesday.

"I was sad when Hossam left to Turkey, I wanted him to stay but he wanted to leave for a better Financial offer." Zobel added.

Hossam and his brother spent four seasons with Zamalek and led them to win two league titles as well as winning 2002 CAF Champions League title.
