Spoting Lisbon sponsor Portugal attacking force

CAIRO – 22 June 2017: The Portuguese squad participating in FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia is one of the toughest Portuguese teams in history. Portugal’s strength comes from their great attacking force.

Most Portugal forwards, wingers and playmakers have something in common: most of them played before for Sporting Lisbon.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Moutinho, Ricardo Quaresma, Luis Nani and Gelson Martins have played or still play now for Lisbon.
Bernando Silva and Andre Silva are the only two players from the attacking line who never wore the Sporting shirt.

Ronaldo, Nani and Quaresma formed the trio that helped Portugal win its only UEFA European Championship in 2016, after beating the host nation France 1-0.

Ronaldo and Quaresma played together in 2002, Nani and Moutinho played together in 2006 while Martins is the youngest of the five and still plays for Sporting Lisbon.
