CAIRO - 10 April 2020: Aliou Badji, Al Ahly’s striker, spoke about his verbal dispute with Al Ahly’s winger Ramadan Sobhi in one of the team’s training sessions.
Speaking to Al Ahly’s official channel on Thursday, the 22-year-old Senegalese striker addressed the confrontation he had with Sobhi saying that it’s something natural on the pitch.
“It’s possible that sometimes players get angry over each other in training. That’s part of football. However, I talked with Sobhi and everything is over,” Badji said, as reported from Yallakora.
Additionally, Badji talked about Sobhi’s dedication and professionalism during the training sessions and how he always wanted to participate despite his injury.
“Sobhi is a friend and a brother to me. I don’t hold anything against him. He has all my respect as he is a great player and understands what happens on the field,” Badji added, according to Yallakora.
Following Al Ahly’s manager [Rene Weiler] recommendation Badji joined the club in the last transfer window arriving from Austrian club Rapid Vienna.
Throughout his whole career, the Senegalese youngster played a total of 112 games where he scored 37 goals and made 12 assists.
