Preview: Confederations Cup Day 4

CAIRO – 21 June 2017: The second round of the FIFA Confederations Cup group stage starts on Wednesday with two matches being played.

Round two will begin with matches played by teams in Group A. At the Otkrytiye Arena stadium, 2016 Euro champions Portugal will go head to head against the hosts Russia at on 5 PM (Egyptian time). Mexico will face New Zealand in the second match of the day at 8 PM (Egyptian time) in the Olimpiyskiy stadium.

Portugal will look for a victory after their dramatic 2-2 draw with the Champions of North America Mexico, while Russia will be aiming for a second victory after winning New Zealand 2-0 in their first match.

Mexico will enter the match against New Zealand looking for a victory in order to keep their chances in qualfying. On the other hand,New Zealand will be fighting for the much needed three points to qualify to advance to the next round.

Before the kick off of the second round, Russia is in first place with three points, Portugal in second place with one point, Mexico in third place with one point and New Zealand in last place with zero points.

Russia will play Mexico and Portugal will face New Zealand in the third and final round.
