Emad Moteab, veteran football player, spoke on Monday about the personal advice that he gave to Ahmed Fathy, Al Ahly’s football player, in regards to whether or not Fathy should extend his contract with Al Ahly.
The 35-year-old right back [Fathy] has been in talks with Al Ahly over a possible contract extension; however, it is believed that Fathy received a stronger offer financially from one the football clubs in Egypt.
While speaking to ON Time Sports Channel, Egypt’s former national player and Al Ahly’s former striker [Moteab] revealed his personal advice to Fathy.
“I advised Fathy to stay at Al Ahly if the financial gap between both offers is small. Of course I wish that Fathy continues with Al Ahly. However, these are only my wishes and I am not criticizing the club [if he leaves],” Moteab said.
Additionally, Egypt’s national team right back informed [Fathy] informed the club on Monday that he will make his decision on whether or not he will extend his contract with the club in the next 48 hours.
Lastly, Fathy who is considered to be one of Al Ahly’s key players was able to lift more than 15 trophies during his time at Al Ahly.
