CAIRO - 29 March 2020: Ahmed Diab, Al-Ittihad’s spokesperson, denied any interest from the Saudi club to sign Al Ahly’s midfielder Hossam Ashour.
Diab tweeted on Saturday through his official twitter account stating that there isn’t any sort of communication between Al-Ittihad and Al Ahly.
“The world is in a crisis and people continue on spreading rumors. The news circulating about the club being interested in Ashour isn’t true. He is not in our list of names that we want for next season,” Diab said.
On a similar note, Al Ahly informed their team captain Ashour earlier this month that he is not in the Rene Weiler’s, Al Ahly’s manager, plans and offered him a position at the club's official channel.
However, the 34-year-old midfielder told Egyptian Giants [Al Ahly] that he wishes to continue his professional career as a footballer.
Al Ahly’s number 25 [Ashour] won the following titles: 12 Egyptian Leagues, 8 Egyptian Super Cups, 5 CAF Champion Leagues and 5 CAF Super Cups along with other trophies during his 15 years at the club.
