Al Ahly in talks with Weiler over contract extension

Al Ahly Sporting Club’s board is currently in talks with Rene Weiler, Al Ahly’s manager, over a possible contract extension after his recent achievements with the team.

According to Filgoal and El-Ahly.com, Al Ahly’s board is willing to extend Weiler’s contract especially following Al Ahly’s qualification to the semifinals of the CAF Champions League.

Also, filgoal adds that there is an initial agreement between Al Ahly and Weiler, which will become official once Al Ahly’s President Mahmoud El Khatib sits with the Swiss manager [Weiler].

Ever since Weiler’s arrival to Al Ahly and the 46 year old managed to win the 2017/2018 Egyptian Super after achieving a 3-2 victory over Zamalek.

R.S.C. Anderlecht’s former manager [Weiler] also led Al Ahly to 16 consecutive victories in the Egyptian Premier League guiding them to first place with a total of 48 points in the first half of the season.

While in the CAF Champions League, Weiler led Al Ahly to the semifinals where they will play two decisive matches against last year’s competition runner up Wydad Athletic Club from Casablanca, Morocco.
