The board of directors of Zamalek club, headed by Mortada Mansour, decided not to complete the Egyptian League matches, if the five-year committee continues.

Zamalek club’s board of directors held a meeting on Sunday, at the club’s headquarters, before the decided decided “unanimously” not to complete the league matches.

Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Sunday night strict sanctions against Al Ahly and Zamalek Following the post-match altercation that marred Thursday's derby between the two teams in the UAE.

Clashes erupted at Mohamed bin Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi following Egyptian Super Cup game which ended with a 4-3 win on penalties for Zamalek.

EFA fined Al Ahly and Zamalek 100k pounds and decided to suspend Al Ahly's Mahmoud Kahraba and Zamalek's Imam Ashour for the rest of the season and fined both players 100k pounds.

EFA also suspended Zamalek captain Mahmoud Shikabala 8 games and fined him 100k pounds.

Zamalek's Abdullah Gomaa suspended three games and fined 50k pounds while Al Ahly's Junior Ajayi and Yasser Ibrahim suspended two games and fined 50k pounds.

EFA also banned Zamalek chairman, Mortada Mansour, from all football-related activity for three games and fined him 200k pounds.

The two teams will meet again on Monday at Cairo stadium at the domestic league.
