Al-Ahly goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami has announced that this season is the last in his long career with the team.
Sherif Ekramy wrote through his official account on Twitter: "At the end of the current season, my role ends as a player in my house, with my will I leave from the big door, with the head held high, proud of what I achieved, searching for a new experience and challenge, and I will always be grateful to this entity and proud of my belonging to the club and the fans who have the credit after God in everything, and I will return to the club one day in the future if predestination wills. "
The 36-year-old is from the junior sector of Al-Ahly, and in 2005, he moved to Dutch Feyenoord and played as a loaner to Turkey's Ankara Guzhou.
Ekrami returned to Egypt in 2009 via the El Gouna Gate, before returning to his original home a year later.
With Al-Ahly, Sherif Ekrami lifted 7 titles for the Egyptian League, the Egypt Cup title, 5 Super Local titles, along with two African Champions League titles, one for the Confederation of Africa, and two titles for the African Super.
Ekrami guarded Al-Ahly's goal in 271 games in total, and he played 24 international matches with the Egyptian national team.
